How to Mine Electroneum Using Your PC.

You have heard of this new British Cryptocoin that is supposed to have a potential 1.6 billion miners scattered across the world. The deal is you are supposed to be able to mine Electroneum using either your Android phone, iPhone or iPad. There is just this tiny problem. The iOS version of the app has not launched yet. The Android version is available, but cannot mine. At least, not yet.

The fact that Electroneum mining is not available on the Electroneum Android app is a slight setback if you are interested in mining the coin. The words “slight setback” was used because you have another option of mining the Cryptocoin on your desktop computer. Regardless of the operating system, you are using (Linux, Mac or Windows), you can mine Electroneum. However, this article focus is on PC. This is how to mine Electroneum on your PC.

Mine Electroneum On Your PC

The first thing you need to do is to download this tool; xmr-stak-cpu into your computer. Please be reminded that this tool is for Windows x64 desktop computer. After downloading the file, you’ll need to unzip it. Look for a file named “config.txt” and edit it. In the text file, you need to pinpoint section which says “pool_address” and another section with the name “wallet_address”.

After you have found it, you should add a pool you intend to mine through. You can use easyhash.io – “etn.easyhash.io:3630”. In the “wallet_address” section, input your Electroneum wallet address. If you do not have one, you can generate a wallet for Electroneum using the offline paper wallet from electroneum.com. If you have completed this stage, it’s time to move to the next.

Now, you have to run xmr-stak-cpu.exe on your PC. The first time you run it, some settings will be detected. You’ll be prompted in that window to copy that section and paste it into the config.txt. The option you’ll be required to paste in the “config.txt” will look something like what you see below.

“cpu_threads_conf” :[ { “low_power_mode” : false, “no_prefetch” : true, “affine_to_cpu” : 0 }, { “low_power_mode” : false, “no_prefetch” : true, “affine_to_cpu” : 1 }, { “low_power_mode” : false, “no_prefetch” : true, “affine_to_cpu” : 2 },],

The moment you add these options into the “config.txt”, all you need to do is restart the xmr-stak-cpu.exe and you have started mining. Yes, it is that easy. If you want to check your hashrate, you can do that by pressing the “h” key in that window.

There is one other thing you should know. If you are a complete noobie, and you are not down to using the downloadable tool, you can visit easyhash.io to use their web miner. The only problem with using the web miner is that it is 50% less efficient than the downloadable one.
